At Saint Francis Xavier School our Catholic curriculum is set by the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
Students attend Mass once a week at a grade level Mass or all-school Mass. Parents are encouraged to attend the level Masses and do when their children are involved in a special way.
All-school Masses allow for communal celebration of events such as: Feasts of St. Francis Xavier, St. Gaspar, St. Blaise, St. Joseph, All Saints, as well as themes such as: respect life and vocations.
Students also attend special liturgical ceremonies during Advent and Lent. These include Stations of the Cross, First Friday Adoration/Benediction and Rosary and grade level Lenten retreats. The Early Childhood Center and Kindergarten students role play the stations of the cross and Christmas pageant as well as attend age appropriate morning prayer services during Catholic Schools’ Week, Advent and Lent.
Social outreach is part of our mission. This outreach is evident in a number of service projects:
providing food for the House of Bread and Backpack Buddies
serving meals at the Open Door Food Kitchen
collecting winter clothing for the shelters
making mittens for residents at shelters
visiting the elderly at Danford Hall
sending cards to the ill

Student Council is dedicated to respecting God’s creation through recycling paper, plastic and aluminum.
