Parish Council

The purpose and ministry of the Parish Council is to enable our parish family to better know and believe in the person of Jesus Christ so that He may be the life of the parish and the center of all its activities.

The Council is to be the representative of the entire parish. The Council is an expression of the collective wisdom of all the parishioners. It does not administrate the parish; that is the ministry of the parish staff and pastor.

Its purpose is to seek information and consult with all the members of the parish and to provide a forum to raise parish concerns. After prayerful discernment, the Council offers advice and direction to the pastor and staff concerning vision, planning, operating and organizing parish life. Its role is both for the present and the future, meeting to listen to present concerns and reflecting prayerfully about the future direction of the parish.

The Council should be visionary. As a result of experiencing the fullness of God’s Word, the Council will bring a broader and more challenging dimension to parish life.
